since june

it's been a while since i wrote from june. a lot of time has elapsed, and most
of it went past without me really noticing. i keep meaning to write things down
closer to when they happen, and then not doing it.

the summer was quiet, in the good way. i walked a lot, took far more photos than
i ended up posting, and spent the evenings messing with models and the homelab.
nothing dramatic happened, which after the spring is roughly what i wanted.

i also rebuilt this site from scratch. the old one was fun but it had grown into
a pile of html i was a little scared to touch, and being scared of your own site
is a good way to stop writing on it. now a post is just a markdown file in a
repo and publishing is a commit. that sounds boring written down, but it took
away the excuse i'd been leaning on.

uni starts again soon and i still don't have a clean answer to what comes next.
maybe that's fine. i'd rather keep making small things and find out which ones i
don't get bored of.
